Main Level Living in Asheville

Have you ever lived in a home where the washer and dryer were in the basement, or lived in a space where all of the bedrooms were on the second level of the home, and you found that incredibly frustrating? Great news! There's a solution.

"Main level living" is a term we use to describe being able to live all on one floor of a home. The primary homeowners will have their bedroom on the house's main level, along with a space for laundry and the other primary rooms (living room, kitchen, dining room, etc.). For example, this can be incredibly beneficial for buyers who are purchasing later in life and are planning to be at the residence for as long as possible. If they purchase a home where they have to use stairs daily, that may be a problem for them as they age and potentially develop mobility issues. (When age is a factor for main level living, we also use the term "aging in place".)

Main level living is also just incredibly convenient. No going up and down flights of stairs to do laundry then put it away. The owner's bedroom and bathroom are separated from the other bedrooms, allowing for more privacy. If it's an option for you to choose as you're buying a home, I always recommend taking it, as resale values on homes that offer main level living are potentially higher than those without.

In the spirit of convenience, I've put together a list of homes that are currently on the market and which offer all of the primary living spaces on the main floor. These homes encompass all price points and are located within the Asheville area. Click the link below to browse to your heart's content!
